Palestinian terrorists fired a rocket from the Gaza Strip toward Israel on Saturday night.
The Israel Defense Forces said the rocket landed in an open field in Israeli territory.
Alert sirens were set off in Kibbutz Nahal Oz along the border with the Hamas-ruled Palestinian enclave.
The Iron Dome missile defense system was not activated, as the rocket did not pose a risk to civilian centers.
Last week, Palestinians in Gaza launched one rocket toward the Jewish state, hours after Israeli forces killed a wanted terrorist during a daytime raid in Jenin.
That rocket, which triggered sirens in the southern Israeli community of Nir Am, was initially thought by the military to have misfired and landed inside the Palestinian enclave. The IDF later said that the rocket fell adjacent to the security fence in Israeli territory.
